They are his prophets.

Between two thousand and four thousand years ago.

What language is this book written in?

 All the modern languages.

And before that?

Ancient Hebrew, ancient Greek, Arameic, Latin.

So you live your life in strict accordance to rules written in a book thousands of years ago?

Rules translated into many languages over thousands of years?
